Charles Enys, 1840 – 1891

Charles Enys moved to New Zealand, in 1864, following in the footsteps of his brother, John Davies. The Enys brothers bought Castle Hill Station, in partnership with some other gentlemen. Charles was a talented watercolour painter and around 60 of his paintings are held at the Australian National Library, in Canberra. Some of these can be seen here.

When Charles fell ill in 1891, he returned to England with his brother, where he died the same year.
