Cornish Language and Identity Loans Resource

This loans resource, which can be borrowed for free from Cornwall Record Office, has been designed to focus on issues around Cornish language and identity. Based on documents held at the Office, it consists of a ‘pick and mix’ selection of activities aimed at Key Stages 2 and 3, to aid exploration of what it means to be Cornish – or to live in Cornwall – today. The pack is designed to support aspects of the SACRE Agreed Syllabus for RE, as well as touching on PSHE and SEAL themes. For more information you can access the teachers’ notes here.

Activity 1: Name that Place. The PowerPoint guiding this activity can be downloaded here, although material required to complete it is supplied in the loans resource.

Activity 2: The Scawen Manuscript. The PowerPoint guiding this activity can be downloaded here, and the film is available to watch below; hard copies of the relevant document are included in the loans resource.
