Thomas Enys, 1516-1560
Thomas Enys was the son of Matthew Enys and inherited the estate from his uncle, John Enys, whose will was proved in 1510. He married either Jane Tretherff [according to Vivian's Visitations of Cornwall] or Jane, daughter of John Williams [Enys manuscripts]. After his death c1560 he was buried at Gluvias.
“Thomas Enys of Enys in the Parish of St Gluvias Co Cornwall Gent heir to his Uncle John Enys, and as such had Livery of Land in Nasalwester &c from Sir William Trevanyon, Knt: 21 March, 7 Hen8 154 15/16 Settled his Messuages Lands &c in Nanskylly in the Parish of St. Columb upon his daughter Mary de Enys and the heirs of her Body Remainder to Thomas de Enys Brother of said Richard and Mary with other Remainders over by deed dated 12 Jan: 37 Hen: 8 – 1545/6.” (Extract from EN/1819)
